The ASA will host the 3rd annual Life Beyond Public Accounting event on March 10th. This event targets all accounting students with a focus on co-op students. Typically students in the co-op program are overwhelmed at the thought of working in public accounting long term. This event was created to bring awareness to students about their career options outside of Public Practice.
Life Beyond Public Accounting consists of a panel of speakers who obtained their CA designation through working in public accounting. The panel will speak to their successes and failures in their work placements, the UFE and beyond. There is also an opportunity for open floor discussions where students are able to ask questions relating to co-op work terms, work/life balance, and the panelist's careers after obtaining a CA designation. Students also have the opportunity to network and interact with the panelists after the event is complete. Refreshments will be available to all during and after the event.
In collaboration with the Institute of Charted Accountants of Ontario. The session will be led by the Associate Director, Career Information from the ICAO.
